| Why Refinish My Rifle Or Shotgun? (Continued) Secondly, this is also an heirloom to pass on to the next generations. Do you want your children and grandchildren to proudly display this heirloom left to them by you? Do you want them to look at it, pick it up and hold it in their hands, remembering the important person in their life who saved this for them? Isn't it possible as they hold this heirloom or look at it from across the room and the beautiful refinished stock catches their eye that it brings back a memory of you both enjoying some time together? These things are much more likely to happen when this piece is restored, refinished and clean and proudly displayed somewhere it will be frequently appreciated as we rush through our day-to-day lives. Another thing is shooting clay pigeons, hunting, whatever activity that we share with the ones we care about. We are so often separated by schedules, time and distance. It is nice when there is an activity that brings everyone together and we can share these special moments. Several customers have mentioned to me the pride they feel when they are at the shooting range or their local gun club and others comment on how beautiful their rifle looks after it has been refinished. Finally, I will close by saying that I have seen many years come and go. I have fought many battles, some won, some lost, some still ongoing. My step is not as sure. My skin not as smooth. My hair not as black. Some of the scars and wrinkles are deep and hard and are there to stay. But I am still valuable. And I am still contributing to my family and to society. And I still like to get cleaned up and put on my best clothes and look my best whenever possible. This is what you can do for your rifle or shotgun. Treat them with the respect and care that they deserve. Refinish and restore for generations to come. |
